Video: Mathematics & Structural Engineering

Over the next few weeks I want to share some of the content I worked on for Mathematics: The Winton Gallery at the Science Museum.

This video is on display in the Mathematics Gallery at the Science Museum alongside an architectural model of the NatWest Tower (now Tower 42) that the museum obtained on loan from RIBA/V&A. The object sits within a story on structural engineering and mathematics. We wanted to bring the subject to life by showing the people behind the work and the spaces in which they operate. Here we speak to Carolina to hear about how she uses mathematics in her work as a structural engineer at Arup.
